Kids! Let’s Go on a Treasure Hunt!
Have fun funding places in the Shasta Cascade!
Geocaching is a fun way to explore. You use a GPS device (on many smart phones) to find spots where treasures are hidden.
On your treasure hunt, you must find answers to questions, then bring those answers to the California Welcome Center in Anderson to claim your treasure. The game is free. All you need is an adult to join you when searching for answers. Admission is required at some attractions.
You could win such treasures as: Lake Shasta Caverns tours, Turtle Bay Exploration Park admission, Lucero Olive Oil, The Fly Shop gifts, Oasis Fun Center passes, and Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms gifts! Here’s how to play:
Answers to questions are found at 12 treasure hunt locations.
Click the “Download Brochure” button below, for a list of treasure hunt locations.
Print out the list to take with you to the locatios to fill in the answers to questions.
Use a GPS device to find the locations.
The locations are all within 100 miles of Redding.
You will need an adult to drive you to the locations. This is fun for the entire family.
Ask your parents, guardians, aunts, uncles or grandparents to come along. They will need to pay for admission at some of these locations.
Each location has a question you must answer. Search for the answer at the location, and when you find it, write it down on your Geo Treasure Hunt Answer Sheet.
