Special Features: Just to the North of Dunsmuir is one of the lovliest little walks you could ever imagine.  Down the winding, serene path you'll walk, with the rushing Sacramento River providing the musical background, along with the sounds of the passing freight train across the canyon.  At the bottom of your five mile walk, you'll arrive at Beautiful Hedge Creek Falls. Sit on the bench while the kids run around behind the falls or frolic in the cool, clean waters. Don't forget to take your picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful picnic area at the top of the walk. And listen carefully, you can actually hear yourself relax in the beauty of the Dunsmuir canyon.

At the top of Hedge Creek falls trail is this beautiful picnic area, which is maintained by the Dunsmuir Garden Club. Next door is the Castle Rock Springswater Company, which bottles delicious water.


Directions: From Redding take I-5 North to Dunsmuir, exit #732 to Siskiyou Ave. Park your car and about 500 yards down a trail you'll move to a whole new world.
