The Shasta Cascade region offers a 4 season wonderland just waiting for you to enjoy.  Springtime hosts a vast array of wildflowers and overflowing waterfalls to photograph, summer's heat can be relieved in one of the many local lakes or avoided altogether with a short drive to a volcanic hike.  Fall offers glorious weather for bike riding along the Sacramento River Trail, while winter offers skiing, snowshoeing, and even outdoor ice skating.  Regardless of your desired climate, year round there is something for everyone to enjoy in the Shasta Cascade Wonderland.

Feather Falls National Recreation Trail offers incredible views of Bald Rock Dome, Bald Rock Canyon, and the 640-foot Feather Falls.There are two options to reach the overlook at Feather Falls. This trail is best for more experienced snowshoers as the marked Nordic trail through dense forest can be extremely hard to follow at times. Forest Lake sees relatively few visitors in the summer as the shallow lake offers no swimming or fishing and has a rather healthy population of mosquitoes.

Located in the pristine Alpine wilderness of the Lakes Basin recreation area, this trail to the falls is a great picnic site with restrooms. An easy 1/2-mile hike is required. The falls are approximately 250-feet.

This route offers backcountry riding and a chance to get away from the crowd. The route begins off the Big Creek Trail 0.6 miles east of Bucks Summit/Four Trees intersection and ends at the junction of Grizzly Summit Trail.

When time is an issue or when snow is sparse in the lower elevations, this is a very popular alternate route for the Gravel Range Loop. This trail offers a cutoff route connecting the Gravel Range loop with the Bucks Summit/Four Trees Trail.
